I always cut buttons from shirts etc. before I throw them away. But this time I try to recycle something else. This stuff is so expensive when you buy it for a project at the craft store.
All these buckles are from one single handbag! It was made from faux leather, so it lost its attractiveness after a while, but its buckles will survive in future projects.
The upper one is from a belt and the lower ones from my winter boots. They were used sidewards, maybe that’s why the writing is in the “wrong” direction. Need to find a creative way to reuse them …
This has only a few crochet in it. I saw this upcycling idea somewhere on the Internet.
You cut the lower part of a shirt into ribbons, then you knot. It gets more and more narrow the more rows of knots you make. But jersey is stretchy, so I don’t have problems to put it on.
I didn’t like the round neck. I cut a hole and crocheted a small stripe in Tunisian crochet which I crocheted together after pulling it through the hole.
I think I’ll wear it in belly dance class if summer ever comes this year. Well, at least I’m ready …
I finally finished my boots (see also Current Project: Upcycled Boots). I added boot laces. And I had to sew flowers to the shoes, really. I will post the pattern for the flowers later. They look a bit like orchids. When it’s dry outside, I’ll wear them, but at the moment we still have snow.
I love this recycling idea! It’s so easy, you don’t even have to cut precisely, you won’t see it at the end.
I got an old T-shirt from my husband. Although it’s kind of washed out, I like the color. I think of making a huge flower for my yellow bag.
We’ll see what hook I have to take and what comes out.
This is an upcycling project. I took my old slippers, removed the fabric, made a blanket stitch around the sole (painful :-/) and startet crocheting. I’ll show you the result as soon as possible.
